Google Image Labeler

I happened to see this Google Image Labeler, which is a "game" made by Google. Users will be paired and will be asked to label the images. The users can be guest or google user. We will be given sometime and a random picture. The user and the partner will be asked to give as many labels as possible for that image. When the users label matches the label of the partner both will earn points and will move one to the next image.
Well, this game is not only for fun, this will ensure Google that the keywords are matching the correct images. Thus it will help Google to make its Image search more efficient. Google is so clever :)

AMD vs Intel

I was just looking through the videos in YouTube, and came across an interesting one, which i had seen long back.
What happens when the CPU cooler is removed?
Its a test on both AMD and Intel processors done by Tom's Hardware in 2001. Well personally i like Intel than AMD. And i am sure than Intel always leads AMD in all aspects.
I have a 2:17 duration video, but i cant find it in Youtube. Its a 1:40 sec video:

Results :

1) Intel Pentium 4/2000
    Temperature = 29 degree C/ 84 F
    Application Slows down
    CPU survives

2) Intel Pentium 3/1000
    Temperature = 38 degree C/ 100 F
    Application Freezes
    CPU survives

3) AMD Athlon 1400
    Temperature = 370 degree C/ 698 F
    Application Crashes
    CPU and Board up in smoke

4) AMD Palomino 1200
    Temperature = 298 degree C/ 568 F
    Application Crashes
    Thermal Diode fails, and CPU up in smoke

I know  this is an old video, but check out this video:

It says 8 Intel cores faster than 16 AMD cores!
Interesting, isnt it? According to me, Intel still over rules AMD !!

RichMint

RichMint, ah not the MINT, its RICHmint.. not the usual mint but its mint. RichMint does usability testing, evaluation and user interface design, started by my friend Kailash. I wish him all success with RichMint :)

A brain madness... blah blah

User/Brain .. both same(?) i was reading about the functions of Brain for past few hours. My friend Kailash told me about the article by George A. Miller (1956):
"The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on Our Capacity for Processing Information"
Its an interesting article.. and the way Kailash made it "collaborate" with the UI is another interesting part:
"the user's memory only holds 7 (+2 or -2) elements in the short-term memory.
if there is a navigational menu on a webpage with over nine elements, the user loses focus and has to iterate through the menu every time when looking for an element."
The interface of any program have lots to do with the usability of the same. Say, you made  a webpage with lots of links and after a user pass through the links and he/she come to a dead end where there is no link to go back to the home page.. that makes the user a bad impression about your website. Similarly the Windows XP has several things that makes user to hate XP, for example, in XP we usually see " Save, Cancel" but it would be more user friendly and specific if it is "Save, Don't Save" which Microsoft changed in Vista. Making the software or website more user-friendly will help to drive in users . So what was i speaking about?? ah. i forgot !!!!

Talking about brains.. one last thing to show off. heres something interesting that Kamal Singh showed me at http://www.news.com.au :

" THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. "
