As a Google Desktop Student Ambassador, I organize some events for the Gadget developments. One of those were the Google Workshop and Desktop Gadget Development. Bijoy Thangaraj and Umakanthan were invited to become the speaker for the session, but they had some unavoidable meetings. So I had the responsibility of taking the session. I remembered the session we had last time in my College. The first part went too technical and was difficult for the students to follow the session. So I thought this time I will reduce the technical stuffs and try to include some cool things about Google in general. I started off with the History of Google, I showed the video which was played during the Google Developer Day 2008. In the beginning my talk was very boring, I made a lot of mistakes, I guess it might be coz this is my first session. Later I could speak without stopping, I dont know whether it was good or bad. My friends told it was good.
So as I had promised the attendees, I am embedding my presentation here:

And the sample program I developed was Memory Smiley gadget of Bijoy Thangaraj. The code for it is available as attachment to this post... Also we had a conference with Mozilla via air.mozilla.com. Chris Hofmann, director of engineering and Special Projects at the Mozilla Foundation and Corporation, was the speaker for it. He talked about the browser history and we had a questionnaire session afterwards.. I had a nice time is Cochin, had a chance to meet some of my old friends and blasted a lot with my VIT Friends
Thanks to James, Bijoy, Mary, Alix, Chris, and Jay for their full support to make these events success
